Q1. What is fresh rubberwood timber?
Ans. Once the rubberwood trees (Hevea brasiliensis) have reach the end of their capacity to produce latex after 25 – 30 years of latex extraction, the trees are replaced and the tree trunks are recycled & made as fresh rubberwood sawn timber.
Q2. Why the Malaysia rubber wood is considered as eco-friendly?
Ans. Rubberwood tree is not a native species to Malaysia; it been growth in plantation for centuries solely for the purpose of commercial sap production. Ans. Yes, the company only use legal & environmentally friendly sources of raw rubber wood in their rubberwood timbers and products manufacturing plant.
Q4. What is treated or processed rubberwood sawn timber?
Ans. Fresh rubberwood timber possess a low durability because of its characteristic of being highly susceptible to insect and fungal attacks, due to its high moisture and starch (i.e. a naturally abundant nutrient carbohydrate) contents. It was found that preservative treatment of fresh rubberwood sawn timbers by pressurized chemical compound injection and kiln drying treatment process can significantly increase the service life of those timbers. For profitable uses, such preservative treatment is necessary to ensure that the rubberwood sawn timbers are not degraded before or during their service life.
